The position is part of a small team that works within the Program Management Office PMO , within Air Force Headquarters, and supports the Air Combat Capability Branch and the Air Capability Enablers Branch. These branches are responsible for program management and delivering high profile Air Force projects.
This is a specialised role based in Canberra to ensure accuracy, quality and completeness of program and project information provide training and support to program and project sponsors and to contribute to the development and continual improvement of knowledge management systems.
Programs and Projects create and consume large volumes of information that is often interrelated. Program and Project Officers must be able to easily access correct versions and be able to update the information regularly. The PMO Knowledge Manager KM is responsible for developing and improving knowledge management systems, and supporting these Officers to do so.
To ensure consistency and compliance with policies and processes, the PMO KM is also responsible for developing and improving the digital tools and content available to Officers. The PMO KM will also provide training and guidance to assist understanding.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to
Maintain, update and improve electronic systems for the access and transmission of information relating to program and project management.
Produce and review program management communication and knowledge management activities to ensure quality and consistency. These could include publications, processes, web content and guidance documents.
Help subject matter experts understand Defence and Air Force business processes relationship with the knowledge management systems.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Program and prioritise tasks based on organisational requirements.
Develop deep understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle and relevant policies and procedures.
Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives internal communications, website, etc. .
This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders and you will need outstanding interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective professional relationships both within Air Force and across the Department.
You will be highly motivated and have a flexible approach to your work and the ability to effectively respond to shifting priorities and timeframes. The role requires you to draw on your digital communication and knowledge management expertise and apply sound judgement when providing advice and making content related decisions.
