A Government Department in Canberra requires the services of a Content Designer. The content designer will work within the Content and Brand team to create engaging and relevant content for the DTA s corporate website and other communication products. The content designer will use their plain English, digital writing and editing skills to support the agency to create simple, clear and accessible content. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - Demonstrated experience in writing in plain English and an ability to translate complex terminology into clear and engaging information for everyone.
- Experience writing content that meets accessibility standards and SEO guidelines, with an understanding of how responsive design affects content layout and flow.
- Ability to identify user needs and demonstrate how content decisions support these needs
- Experience working with and influencing subject matter experts and key stakeholders to write content about their area of expertise while supporting the strategic goals of the organisation.
- Ability to write in a specified style and tone of voice using a content guide.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and ensuring delivery is aligned to strategic direction of the agency.
- Ability to provide specialist content advice for digital content and social media.
- Ability to create the right content within short timeframes.
- 5 years experience in content design or as an editororwriterorcontent specialist.
- Experience using Drupal CMS or similar
- Experience developing engaging creative content, for example video scripts
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, ideally using agile methods
- Knowledge of the methodology used by the DTA, in particular the Digital Service Standard
- Experience working in HTML a definite advantage
The role requires the candidate to be an Australian Citizen with baseline clearance prior to commencement. The role closes to receipt of applications at 3pm 15th February 2019.
